Hey, hi, I'm Wesley. I have never been one to care for or be interested in "bloggers" or "blogging", so let's just not think of this space as one of those things! I am an Art Director for a media company in LA. I am also in the process of planning a wedding (mine! yikes!), moving to Orange County into a new home with my forever boyfriend (first time homeowners! gah!), and neck deep in surviving all of this change.
I was feeling the woes of trying to stay sane and keep it all together and realized that part of what was driving me to insanity was that everywhere I looked I saw sugar-coated versions of reality. Wedding blogs I followed for inspo were just post after post of unrealistic time-sucking DIY's and money-sucking "must-haves". Won't all those things just be tossed or thrown into storage immediately following the big day?! And I WILL NOT spend $4k on flowers...Throw money at something that literally DIES?! Nope.
When I tune into Instagram, I feel like all I ever see are perfectly put-together homes of the people I follow...and all of the sudden I would feel immense pressure to immediately get our new home decorated! organized! awesome!
Hi! I still don't understand how people on social media are brunching downtown on a tuesday at 10am?? Like...I'd be into it, but HOW? Anyway, my purpose for this space is to serve as a personal record of survival and to share the real life bits that happen along the way. OH! and all the really awesome things too :)
So hey guys, I'm real, I'm here, and I'm stoked about it.
